The choice of shingles is not a small detail to your home as up to 40% of your building’s exterior may show as roofing. We use high definition shingles that are designed to stand up to the elements year after year. These shingles will complement your home’s exterior and improve the visual appeal and market value of your property.
Rather than stapling, our construction method entails nailing the shingles to provide greater strength and allow the shingles to withstand higher winds. Earning a UL listing for wind resistance for up to 80 mph and a Class A fire rating, these shingles offer excellent protection against wind and fire damage.
Siding, Trim, and Soffit
Fiber-cement exterior siding is a durable, attractive alternative to traditional wood composite, cedar, vinyl, brick, or stucco siding. With the look and warmth of natural wood, fiber cement siding resists damage from extended exposure to humidity, rain, salt, air, and termites. This siding option is noncombustible with a Class A fire rating.
We provide quality fiber cement siding on all of the home’s exterior areas wherever possible. The installation method on the corners, window frames, and doors also creates smaller caulk lines, resulting in less maintenance and better energy efficiency.

HVAC
As a green builder, we install Carrier heat pumps with 15 SEER. These high-quality heat pumps feature R8 flex ducts to provide better energy efficiency and help reduce your energy costs year after year.
Electrical
Arnold Custom Builders provides excellent electrical service in your new home with a minimum of 200 amps. Because retrofitting each room of your home at a later date can be expensive and time-consuming, we feel it’s best to anticipate your future needs by providing expansion capacity from the beginning.
For example, when adding additional amenities to a home, such as a pool or a workshop, you’ll need to build additional service.
In most cases, our 200 amp service will allow you to add a future amenity without the additional expense of other lines, another breaker box, permits, and an electrician. This, coupled with the quality of copper wiring, will offer added lasting value over the life of your new home.
Insulation and Sheetrock
Our professionals go even further by utilizing more insulation in both the walls (R-23) and the ceilings (R-38) and installing solar sheathing on the roof to reach an R-50 in the attic.
Most home builders use only nails to install sheetrock. We also use screws to provide greater strength, thereby requiring less maintenance and reducing the chance of the sheetrock cracks and nail pop outs.
Doors and Windows
Energy performance is very important for your home. Therefore, we offer some of the finest vinyl LoE2 windows that are ENERGY STAR rated and exceed most local energy code requirements. The tilt sash feature makes for easy cleaning from inside your home. These windows are sure to give your home great curb appeal for years to come.
